Words in English
often have more than one meaning.
Within here, ye shall find words gathered along the way.
This is where my shorter pieces live:
Essays, reflections, fragments, observations.
Older writings rediscovered.
Occasional thoughts that have not (Ed. : Yet!) become books.
Some will be serious.
Some may wander.
A few may contain unexpected turns.
Think of it as the notebook beside the shelf.

In 1990 the newspaper The Glasgow Herald ran an essay competition,
in conjunction with Whitbread Brewery and the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.
Entrants were to write their interpretation of “Glasgow 2000”;
I was awarded joint winner with my essay based on a theme of an entrance paper to further education.
